Conway, SC. This is German Perez's first season as student assistant with the Coastal Carolina University men's tennis team, but is a familiar face on the squad as he was a member of the 2009 roster. Last season, Perez earned All-Big South Conference in both singles and doubles. Perez was also selected to the ITA Academic team. In singles, Perez posted a 13-8 record in the No. 1 spot, while going on a seven-match win streak to end the season. Perez and partner Ernesto Ramos also went 16-4 record in the No. 1 spot on doubles, as the duo was ranked No. 68 in the nation, the first time in school history a Coastal doubles team was ranked. In fall 2008, Perez won the A-1 doubles flight at the Sergio Tacchini Collegiate Invitational with partner Ramos, earning a 8-6 win over UMBC's Freidi Voorman and Nick Savage-Pollack. He also went undefeated in singles matches at the Coastal Carolina Invitational. Prior to Coastal Carolina: Perez went to University of Arkansas-Little Rock from fall 2005 to spring 2008. He finished the 2008 season with a 15-9 overall singles record, going 3-3 at No. 1 singles, 8-6 at No. 2 singles, and 2-1 at No. 3 singles. In doubles, he ended the season with a 14-7 overall doubles record. In the spring season Perez was ranked 30th in singles in the Central Region. He was a two-time selection to the Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll. German Perez is a 2005 graduate of Colegio Helios in Valencia, Spain. He was a top junior in Spain, finalist at the Comunidad Valenciana Under-16 tournament, and won the Team Championship of the Comunidad Valenciana. He also competed in the doubles quarterfinals of the Spain under-14 and in the quarterfinals in the ETA Tournament in Austria. Perez is the winner of the National Mediterranean Open. Perez trained under all-time coaches Pepe Aupi and Carlos Navarro at Aene Tennis Academy, a tennis academy located in Playpuig, a small town near Valencia. He is the son of German and Marisa.
